Passport

Issuance and Renewal of Passports

To apply for the Lebanese Passport or to renew it, you can download this form, fill it out and bring it in person to the Consulate General.

Supporting documents required for the application are:

  • Actual passport.
  • Personal civil registration no longer than 10 years or Lebanese ID card.
  • 2 photos (Passport size).
  • The Consent will be signed by both parents authorizing children under 18 to obtain a passport.

 

Issuance of emergency certificate (loss of travel document / passport)

It is advisable that you keep a photocopy of your passport at all times to facilitate the issuance of an emergency certificate, if you happen to lose your passport abroad.

In cases where, under any circumstances your travel document / passport is lost while abroad, these are the steps to follow:

  • Report the loss of travel document at the nearest police station.
  • Apply for an Emergency Certificate at the nearest Lebanese Embassy / General Consulate.

 

Documents required to be submitted are as follows:

  1. A copy of the police report.
  2. Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship(Id, Personal civil registration)
  3. Three posts in a newspaper, either in three different newspapers or in the same newspaper for three days.

An Emergency Certificate will be issued by the Embassy / General Consulate which would enable the person to travel home to Lebanon (one way trip).

IMPORTANT!

Due to new measures of the Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO” starting from 01/01/2015 , all Lebanese Nationals are recommended to apply for new passports 3 months before the expiry date of their blue passports.

IMPORTANT!

Old red colored passports must be replaced by Nov. 24, 2015. To apply for a new passport, forms are available at the Consulate General. Click here for more information.

بناء على تعليمات المديرية العامة للامن العام للعام 2015 ، سوف يتم التوقف عن تجديد جوازات السفر اللبنانية من اللون الازرق اعتبارا من 01/01/2015 باستثناء الحالة التي يتقدم فيها صاحب العلاقة بطلب جواز سفر جديد وتكون صلاحية الجواز الموجود في حوزته قد شارفت على الانتهاءحيث يتم تجديد جواز سفره لمدة سنة واحدة فقط .Click here

عملا بالتوجيهات الجديدة لمنظمة الطيران المدني الدولي “ICAO” اعتبارا من 01/01/2015، يرجى من المواطنين اللبنانيين الذين شارفت صلاحية جوازات سفرهم الزرقاء على الانتهاء التقدم بطلبات جوازات سفر جديدة قبل حوالي ثلاثة اشهر من انتهاء الصلاحية .
